This park is named for its historic Ranthanbore fortress which lies
within the national park. Near the town of sawai Madhopur, Midway
between Bharatpur and Kota. Ranthambore National Park is one of the
prime examples of project tigers conservation effort in Rajasthan.
This is approx about 130 km from Jaipur which is also nearest
airport . The nearest town & midway station is about 11 kms away .
The park is famous for its tiger population and is also a part of
India's "Project Tiger". Other wild animals seen are leopard , Wild
Pig, Saber, Cheetah and the Wild Goats .
Major wild animals found in Ranthambore are Tiger, leopard, nilgai,
Dhole, Wild pig, Sambor, Cheetah and wild goat. It is also home to
wide range of trees, plants, birds and reptiles.
The park itself covers some 1334 Sq. Km and its
scenery is very beautiful. |
