Rajaji National Park having an area of 820 km spreads across three districts of uttranchal - haridwar - Dehradun and pawri garhwal. Rajaji National Park is yet to be notifies as a national park but since it expects the notification soon it functions as a national park with its privileges. Rajaji National Park is composed of three components - Rajaji National Park was found in 1948, Motichur founded in 1936 and chilla founded in 1977. In 1983 the three wildlife sanctuary's were amalgated into a single park and were together named Rajaji National Park. Rajaji National Park is situated in the foothills of the Shivalik Range. Most of the land is covered in Sal forests. a most significant part of the haridwar range reserve forests runs continuously with chilla's southern and south-eastern boundaries. This gives animals extra-space and the park authorities have set in motion a plan to attach the Haridwar forest to Rajaji National Park

Rajaji National Park has conservation problems in Rajaji some of which have been attributes to the human population in the park. Rajaji National Park been

facing a lot of problems ranging from soil erosion to poaching despite of all this Rajaji National Park continuous to be one of the northern India's major wildlife reserves and has several distinct vegetation hones.

Another reason Rajaji National Park makes it a higly visited park is its accssibility. It is located approx. 230Km. from the country's capital new Delhi. Rajaji National Park is extremely rich in animal and plants life. the trrain however of Rajaji National Park consists of some large plains is mainly made up of hilly landscape.
