The Nagarhole National Park, part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve that also embraces the Wayanad Sanctuary in Kerala, Mudumalai National Park in Tamil Nadu and Bandipur National Park in Karnataka, is a wonderful place to encounter the wild. That much more so if your lodge happens to be set on the banks of the serene Kabini. Cicada Kabini is managed by earnest young people Dare determined to offer a wholesome wildlife experience to newbie and Ban alike. Accommodation is in smart stone cottages. Safaris, organized by assort and led by passionate naturalists, are always rewarding—despite the elusiveness of the large number of tigers in the park

Nagarhole is known for its elephants, gaur, sambar, cheetal, leopard and even tigers, but it is the habitat supporting th variety of wildlife that adds to the lustre of this park. Located right next to Bandipur Tiger Reserve and Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary and part of the Nilgiri Biosphere, Nagarhole is blessed with heavy rainfall. Thanks to these rains,
the park has a nut perennially grassy swamps known as 'hadlus'. The forest is the moist deciduous kind and consists mainly of teak and eucalyp with a good measure of bamboo clumps thrown in. For those who prefer a slow ride through the jungle soaking in the rich Ian rather than seeking out tigers and elephants, this is the park to visit.

Nagarhole National Park is located 94km away from Maysore. It is spread between Kodagu and Mysore districts. The national park has rich forest covered with, little streams, valleys and waterfalls. It is also known as ‘'Rajiv Gandhi National Park'. This park is located to the northwest of Bandipur National Park. In 1975 its area stretched to 575 km˛. The climate in summer is hot and in winter is pleasant. Nagarhole National Park, has more Tiger, Bison and Elephant as compaired to Bandipur.
