 Location
Himachal Pradesh is a glorious mountain state, of crystal lakes,
vast stretches of brilliant flowers, ancient shrines and beautiful
people. This state lies in the northern part of the country, in the
lap of the mighty "Himalayas" - The most important amongst the seven
principal mountain ranges of India. The Himalayas or "The Valley of
Gods" run across the top of the Indian subcontinent stretching over
some 2500 kilometres. These mountains were formed between 50 to 60
million years ago.
This Valley of Gods is sprawled by the Beas river. Rising from 4000
ft. to peaks over 20,000 ft., the riverhead of the Beas is located
on the northwest slopes. The raw magnificence of Beas's natural
beauty has to be seen, and experienced, to be believed.
Span Holistic Resorts is located on the right bank of the river Beas.
Span's neighboring peak is 5 km. Away, towering to a height of 17000
Ft. above sea level. The Resort is approximately 5000 Ft. above sea
level and enjoys cool weather all round the year with summer midday
highs of 280 c to winter night lows of (-) 20 c.
Snowy peaks, rugged slopes and wide valleys offer splendid
opportunities, not only for mountaineering, rock climbing and
skiing, but also for para gliding and river rafting. It is an ideal
place for trekking enthusiasts, and the trekking routes in the state
take you to remote, undisturbed spots. Courses and competitions in
skiing and mountaineering, carnivals and cultural evenings form the
traditional part of winter sports.
