Area:
Dachigam National Park is spread over 141 Sq. Km and altitude varies from 1700 to 4300 meters. Its demarcated into upper and lower Dachigam, because of the variations in the altitude.

 Location
Dachigam National Park vast, is located on the periphery of state capital Srinagar, sloping down towards the Dal Lake. The variations in altitude is vast ranging from 5500ft to 14000 feet above mean sea level. Due to this vast variations the park is very clearly demarcated into an upper and lower region. The terrain ranges from gently sloping grasslands to sharp rocky out craps and cliffs. Park of the Dachigam National Park lies above the tree line and this area displays its own kind of natural beauty with bare rock mountains and crevics.
